Farhan landed in trouble because of SRK

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan had been out of India for a long time shooting in Los Angeles for Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan.

So when he came back home to his Bandra villa, Mannat, understandably there was a euphoria outside it.

On the first Sunday of his return, there was a huge crowd standing outside his house in Bandra's Bandstand area too catch that one glimpse of him.

Our source revealed, "SRK has specially erected a small podium like structure inside his bungalow, where climbs up and waves out to his fans.

So on 25 January, just hours after he had landed in Mumbai, SRK came out to wave out to his fans. The fans went into a tizzy seeing their superstar.

Word of mouth spread faster and more and more crowds began to swell up. Soon there was a traffic jam. And stuck in that jam, was the Luck By Chance star, Farhan Akhtar.

Farhan earlier thought that the jam would break in five minutes but soon the five minutes, turned to ten and then to fifteen minutes. As the fans got more and more excited, they began jumping on cars to get a better glimpse of SRK.

There came a stage when a few hysterical fans even began to jump up and down his car. It is the when Farhan called up the King Khan on his mobile and told him to turn to his right where his car was parked.

Shah Rukh then understood the situation and immediately waved to the crowd and got off his elevated position. And that's how Farhan was finally able to reach home."

John Abraham's voluptuous girlfriend Bipasha Basu

It seems John Abraham's voluptuous girlfriend Bipasha Basu has reasons to be unhappy.

Voted sometime ago as the sexiest man in the world, John surprised many with his choice of the sexiest Indian woman. No it's not Priyanka Chopra he was talking about. But that's not reason enough for Bips to heave a sigh of relief.

Surprisingly he vouched for the suave Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as "the sexiest woman in India by eons and light years" in an interview to the men's magazine GQ.

It definitely must have come as a shocker for the dusky Bong beauty.

He didn't stop there.

He gushed, "I love her to death! I'm totally impressed with the sophisticated Mrs. Gandhi Vadra and I think she's "going to be the real power centre in the future".

We understand John's sentiments but we just hope he doesn't end up offending his hot girl friend too much. After all, confident woman like Bips don't like to be scorned in any way.

Asin do stunts all the time

Well, actors do stunts all the time. And Asin did the same not very long ago and that too in real life.

She saved a kid from getting trampled by a car on a busy road in Andheri.

She was passing by in her car when she noticed a boy stuck right in the middle of a busy road. There were speeding cars passing by within inches of the kid, who reportedly seemed clueless as to what to do.

Just as he was almost in front of a speeding vehicle Asin swung into action, walked into the middle of the road and hurriedly took the boy aside. But while doing so she lost her balance and fell down.

She saved the boy but ended up with bruises on her arms. Currently she's sporting full sleeve dresses to conceal her bruises which are in the healing process.

However playing down the incident, she says it's a personal matter.

Well, this dame wants to be humble and good, much like her character in 'Ghajini'.

Mallika Sherawat was planning to seduce audiences

Mallika Sherawat was planning to seduce audiences again but it was not to be.

A movie that was supposed to have her as a seductress has been shelved even before it could roll.

These days Mallika has been covered up in some of her films but was supposed to be back where she belongs with an erotic thriller by producer Ratan Jain.

Titled 'Forbidden' it was to be directed by a newcomer named Manish Gupta.

Mallika was supposed to play a debauched woman who seduces her stepson.

Tusshar Kapoor and many others were considered for the role and Aditya Seal who debuted opposite Manisha Koirala in 'Ek Chhoti Si Love Story' was finalized.

But due to differences between the producer and the director, the project couldn't take off.

Manish Gupta has moved on to another project titled 'Stoneman Murders' and put 'Forbidden' on the backburner. This prompted the film's producer to shelve the project altogether.

Well, the fans of Mallika must have been sad to not see her in yet another overtly feisty and sexy role!

india AskUN to exert more pressure on Pakistan about 26/11

In yet another strong message to Pakistan over its continued reluctance to act on the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday urged the UN to exert more pressure on Islamabad.
The minister, who discussed the Mumbai terror attacks with the visiting UN Secretary General Ban-ki-Moon in New Delhi said, “Pakistan must ensure that it fulfils its commitment to end terrorism emanating from its soil.”

Pranab also sought the urgent intervention of the United Nations and the international community to pressurise Islamabad, which has been in the denial mode ever since it was proved that Pakistan based terrorists were responsible for the Mumbai carnage.

“I requested the UN Secretary General to look into all aspects and ensure that Pakistan fulfils all its promises to stem in terrorism,” Pranab said while talking to reporters.

The strong statement from the Foreign Minister comes a day after Home Minister P Chidambaram cleared the air on Pakistan’s response to the dossier that India provided it.

Chidambaram confirmed that India had not got any response from Pakistan over Mumbai attacks probe.

The clarification from the Home Minister came in the wake of divergent views held by Pranab Mukherjee and National Security Advisor MK Narayanan on Pakistan’s response.

"There is no confusion. Both External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and I have said that we have not received any response to the dossier given to Pakistan as yet," Union Home Minister P Chidambaram told reporters.

Also, for the first time, country’s Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon came out in the open and maintained that ghastly terror attacks Mumbai were the handiwork of Pakistan’s notorious spy agency, the ISI.

Menon stated that the investigations conducted so far have proved that the attacks were planned and launched from Pakistan.

AQ Khan The Tainted Nuke Scientist Freed By Pakistani Court

Disgraced nuclear scientist AQ Khan was declared a free man by the Islamabad High Court on Friday, even as media reports suggested that the present Pakistani establishment had come to an out-of-court settlement on easing restrictions imposed on him.

Responding to a petition filed by Khan seeking the further easing of restrictions on him, the Islamabad High Court reiterated its judgement of some months ago that the scientist was a free citizen subject to some security measures.

His house arrest was also abolished. The court also directed the government to provide VVIP security to Dr Khan on an immediate basis. Dr Khan is free now to express his views, interact with the media.

The High Court said Khan, who was accused of running a nuclear proliferation ring, could freely move around within the country and can also visit the Science Foundation for research.

There is also no bar on close friends and relatives meeting him, it said.

However, TV channels reported that Khan had reached some sort of secret, out-of-court agreement with the government on easing restrictions imposed on the scientist after he admitted to running a nuclear proliferation ring in early 2004.

These things happen: Khan

After the judgement, a visibly relieved Khan said, "These things happen. We should forget and look forward."

Khan told reporters that Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also been "inside".

"The government had made arrangements and nobody could hurt me. Now also, the government will take care," Khan said.

He also ruled out any vengeance against ex-President Musharraf who had placed him under house arrest saying that Musharraf had been punished by God since now he was out of power.

Khan while ruling out allegiance towards any country other than Pakistan, said that he neither intended to go abroad or enter politics and his thrust would be towards improving the education scenario in his nation.

However, after today’s judgement, only his house arrest has been withdrawn but he has not been acquitted of the charges against him. The case will continue to be tried in the court.

The most serious charge against him was pertaining to him being the kingpin of the network that sold nuclear technology to countries like North Korea, Iran and Libya.

However, after these charges were levelled at him he was sacked from his post and put under house arrest. Musharraf had then rejected calls for his interrogation by other countries saying that Pakistan had good interrogators and questioning by outsiders would undermine the country’s capability.
